CHILDREN ARE SAFE
AND ENJOY SCHOOL LIFE
We recognise our responsibility to foster a Christian
atmosphere, to equip the young students in our care to face
the adult world with confidence and to play a responsible
part in a society which is rapidly changing and holds a
variety of different standards. This confidence is shaped
through a deep understanding of the relationship between
faith and culture.
A community that
worships
together
Making a choice of secondary school is a major decision
for children and parents. It is of paramount importance that
your child feels safe and supported. To this end we provide a
comprehensive induction programme at the end of Year 6.
Once at Oaklands, the successful pastoral system, which is
built on a strong partnership between the school, home and
parish, continues to provide individual support.
TheYear Head and FormTutors emphasise with students the
importance of self-discipline and responsibility and also the
importance of care, concern and respect for each other at
all times.Year 7 students receive additional support from a
trained Year 11 ‘BuddiesTeam’.
Oaklands welcomes students of all abilities, for students
who need additional assistance our learning support team
will provide personalised support and intervention.
