Oaklands is a thriving special school based in Isleworth and serving the London Borough of Hounslow. Oaklands pupils aged 11 – 19, have severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism.
Oaklands is at an exciting point in its development; we are currently working towards expansion and full school relocation to a purpose built new school in Hounslow for September 2018. The schools will be based on two sites and will consist of a new primary school (New Oaks) opening in September 2019, along with the current secondary school (High Oaks) and an independent post 19 college (Great Oaks) opening September 2018.
We regularly need additional staff to cover absence and are looking to recruit a number of individuals to join our team of Relief Learning Support Assistants, working on a casual as and when basis. Successful applicants will be required to work in partnership with class teachers to support pupils' learning. In addition you will be required to attend to pupils' personal needs, helping with social, welfare, care and health matters, which may include toileting, feeding and mobility. We are particularly interested in recruiting people who have previous experience of working with young people who have special needs.
Oaklands is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and anyone applying to work at the school is expected to share this commitment. This position is subject to a satisfactory fully enhanced DBS check and references being received.
Visits to the school are welcome. Please contact Lindsey Banks, HR Officer for an appointment on 0208 560 3569.
