Great Oaks College

In line with the guidance from the Department for Education, Great Oaks College has been established as a company limited by guarantee called the Great Oaks Charitable Trust. The company registration number is 11074784. It will be registered as a charity once the college opens. The company is governed by its articles of association which can be downloaded from the following link.

Articles of Association

Like most companies, the charity has two levels of governance: members (like shareholders) and directors (responsible for strategic direction as well as key operational decisions).

Members

The members of the Great Oaks Charitable Trust are responsible for appointing and holding the Board of Directors to account in meeting the objects of the Trust which are, the advancement of education of persons under the age of 25 years with special educational needs by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities and services to meet their educational, developmental and social welfare needs so that they can achieve their full potential

The members include:

Annita Cornish

Annita is the Head of Special Educational Needs and Disability for the London Borough of Hounslow and has worked in special needs education for several years. Prior to working for the London Borough of Hounslow, Annita worked as the Senior Policy Manager & Advisor for Inclusion for the Ministry of Education, Employment & Gender Affairs for Cayman Islands.

Matthew Sartin

Matthew is currently the headteacher at Springhallow School, a special school in Ealing for pupils aged 4-16. Matthew previously worked as headteacher of Portesbury School an all age day school (2 -19 years) catering for children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Phil Strandring

Phil is a qualified accountant and currently works as Head of Pricing for ISS Facility Services UK. In previous roles, Phil has worked for companies in various commerical and financial roles including: Colt Technology Services; Tribal Group plc; Fujitsu Services and the NHS.

Board of Directors

The members of the Great Oaks Charitable Trust are responsible for appointing and holding the Board of Directors to account in meeting the Trusts objects of advancement of education of persons under the age of 25 years with special educational needs by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities and services to meet their educational, developmental and social welfare needs so that they can achieve their full potential

Shaminder Kaur Rayatt

Shaminder is currently the Deputy Director STEM, Digital and Creative at Barnet and Southgate College. Shaminder is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership and management across A Levels, Science, Art, Media and ICT courses offering a range of academic, vocational and full cost recovery programmes from Level 1 to Honours Degree Level across two sites.  She has considerable teaching and management experience in the post-sixteen sector with a particular specialism in leading A Level teams to high achievement and value added.  She is also Education Director for Chakardar, UKs leading Indian Percussion organisation, promoting Indian classical Rhythm through concerts, workshops and residential retreats. 

Maria Landers

Maria Rescy Pesigan Landers has been married for 24yrs with Gavin Peter Landers with three beautiful children which two where in University and the youngest is special child presently at Oakland School. Maria has a Diploma in Midwifery, a Certified Bookkeeper and an NVQ 3 in Customer Service. Maria worked at ASDA as Customer Advisor but had to give up her career when the youngest demand her full attention. Maria has been a School Governor since 2009 and currently runs her own Business,  an online shop called Crochetsorize.

Sharon Lorenzato

Sharon is a finance officer at a secondary school and a mum to two teenage boys. Sharon has recently completed a Level 4 Diploma in School Business Management, and is using the new skills learned to assist the School Business Manager in procurement and budget monitoring. Sharon has a background in purchasing and supply for a big high street store, and before has worked as a SENCO in a community playgroup.

All directors and members have completed the pecuniary and business interests declarations in December 2017 and made no declarations of interest.
