Design Technology Teacher

Oaklands is an outstanding special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism. Since September 2018 we have a Primary school (New Oaks) and a Secondary school (High Oaks) We are based across two different sites with both our school buildings offering state of the art facilities for our students.

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative & dynamic Design Technology Teacher to develop the DT/vocational curriculum within our school. We have a purpose-built DT room which is waiting for an enthusiastic subject specialist to bring it to life. We are looking for the right person to join us to promote DT and Vocational as successful subject within our school. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a diverse range of skills and a positive attitude and will have a passion for the subject of Design and Technology that will motivate and encourage our students. As well as having a good sense of humour, you will need to be well organised, calm, patient and passionate about teaching students with severe special educational needs. We believe that all of our students are capable of making outstanding progress and we want to appoint individuals who share our belief and have the desire and motivation to make this happen. Pay Scale:                    MPS or UPS plus SEN point (dependent upon relevant skills and experience in special education)

Contract Type:             Part Time – 2 days a week Tuesday and Wednesday

The successful candidate will be required to attend a pre-employment induction.
