Learning Support Assistant Vacancy

In this section...

Oaklands is an excellent special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism. We believe that all of our students are capable of making outstanding progress and we want to appoint individuals who share our belief.

From September 2018 we have a Primary school (New Oaks), Secondary school (High Oaks) and a specialist independent SEN College provision (Great Oaks). We can cater for students aged from 4 to 25 across the Oaklands group.

Oaklands is at an exciting point in its development. In September 2018 we relocated to a purpose built new school building (close to Osterley Tube Station and other public transport links) that offers state of the art facilities for our students. In time, the schools will be based on two sites with New Oaks Primary moving back to Woodlands Road once refurbishment is completed.

Due to our rapid and continued expansion we are looking to appoint learning support assistants to work with our students providing for the personal care and medical needs, helping to deliver education programmes. If you have an NVQ2 in a relevant area and experience of working with children and young people with special needs, gained in a school or similar environment, we would like to hear from you. Please refer to the job description and person specification for full details of the role.

We look after our staff; We offer a comprehensive induction and Inset programme for our staff, a pension scheme and employee assistance programme.

Oaklands is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and anyone applying to work at the school is expected to share this commitment. This position is subject to a satisfactory fully enhanced DBS check and references being received. All positions are subject to the satisfactory completion of a 26 working week probation period.
