          Occupational Therapist

Oaklands is an outstanding special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism. In September 2018 we expanded our provision to include a Primary school (New Oaks), and a specialist independent SEN College provision (Great Oaks) to our already established secondary school (High Oaks). We can cater for students aged from 4 to 25 across the Oaklands group.

Oaklands is at an exciting point in its development. Since September 2020, the primary and secondary schools have been based on separate sites, High Oaks is situated on Gresham Road in a purpose built new school building (close to Osterley Tube Station and other public transport links) that offers state of the art facilities for our students.  New Oaks Primary has relocated back to the newly refurbished Woodlands Road site offering outstanding facilities for our younger students.

We are looking to appoint a qualified Occupational Therapist to provide our onsite occupational therapy service for our students. The ideal candidate will have 2 years’ experience of working in a specialist school for young adults who have very complex needs including PMLD, SLD and autism along with NHS Band 6 Occupational Therapy experience. You will be able to design and deliver sensory integration programmes. You will liaise with service providers and parents to ensure that therapy is delivered as required at school and home.

We value our employees and offer excellent training and support along with a pension scheme, Employee Assistance Programme and other well-being benefits.

Oaklands is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and anyone applying to work at the school is expected to share this commitment. This position is subject to a satisfactory fully enhanced DBS check and references being received. All positions are subject to the satisfactory completion of a 26 working week probation period.
